We offer tours of our wind powered brewery throughout the year. Learn the ins and outs of the brewing process and the inner workings of our unique little brewery on a sand bar.
 
Please plan for around 45 minutes and keep in mind that the brewery is not air conditioned or heated! Due to space limitations in the brewery, there is a limit of 15 people per tour.
 
Tour lasts about 30 minutes and then you can enjoy a beer tasting in the backyard. We will email you if there are changes due to uncontrollable circumstances. Reservations close at 3pm. If the tour is full online you can call after 3pm or stop in to see about any cancellations.

Pop up Dinner at The Blue Point

Our first Communal Supper of 2020 is MONDAY, January 13 hosted by Chef Matt Beck & The Blue Point Culinary team. The evening will be fun, casual, delicious and a different experience from traditional dining at The Blue Point. Weather permitting we will be dining outside at The Back Bar. The evening is geared toward the non-conformist foodie who expects the unexpected. We will be dining at a communal table with open seating so come prepared to make some new friends. This dinner will feature five courses of food (one more than we usually have).

The Blue Point Advanced Sommelier, Simon Kaufmann, has selected beverages (beer, wine or a specialty cocktail) to compliment the food selections. Come prepared to try something new!

The event is limited to 30 guests and tickets are $55 each. Gratuity for the culinary team is optional at the end of the evening. The price includes food and beverages. The After Pop-Up Party will have a cash bar at the end of the evening if you would like to enjoy a cocktail. We hope you will join us! Don't miss this fun evening!

Mandala Workshop
Wednesday, January 15th, 2020, 4pm to 7pm at Dare County Arts Council, 300 Queen Elizabeth Ave., Manteo
Artist Melanie Bortz will be teaching Mandala classes at DCAC on Wednesdays from 4pm-7pm.  
During these classes you will be taught the art of mandala creation, from basic and simple patterns, to a more advanced flow of lines through sacred geome to try. Each class will be geared towards the individual level of the participant. Initial classes will be offered at the basic level with an increase in skill level offered as the demand increases.

Blue Point Wine Dinner with Geoff Kruth, Master Sommelier

This month we are hosting our first Wine Dinner of 2020 on FRIDAY, January 17 with Geoff Kruth, Master Sommelier from Lost & Found Winery https://lostandfoundwine.com and one of America's most respected wine professionals. He's one of only 236 Master Sommeliers in the world. We'll be hosting Master Sommelier Geoff Kruth and dedicating the evening to "lost and found," an approach to classic winemaking from excellent vineyards.
 
The Blue Point Culinary team will prepare some snacks for the reception and then three seated courses will be paired with wines from Lost & Found Winery. The evening will be fun, casual, delicious and a different experience. Reception with chardonnay and snacks begins at 6pm and will include a preview of the BP kitchen. Dinner will follow on our private porch at 6:30pm.
 
The event is limited to 24 guests and tickets are $95 each. Gratuity is not included so please bring some small bills for the service team. We hope you will join us! Don't miss this fun evening!

Master Sommelier Geoff Kruth is the proprietor of Lost and Found Winery, who, along with consulting winemaker Megan Glaab, source fruit from "lost and found" vineyard sites in Sonoma Valley. In addition to his success in the vineyard, Geoff launched the GuildSomm website in 2009, joining his career in wine with his early background in technology. He manages the organization, hosts the GuildSomm audio podcast and video documentaries, develops content, and leads masterclasses.

Familiar with SOMM films? Geoff co-produced of the documentary film Into the Bottle, the follow-up to the cult documentary hit SOMM in addition to starring in the TV show Uncorked.

Artist Melanie Bortz will be teaching Mandala classes at DCAC on Wednesdays from 4pm-7pm.  
During these classes you will be taught the art of mandala creation, from basic and simple patterns, to a more advanced flow of lines through sacred geome to try. Each class will be geared towards the individual level of the participant. Initial classes will be offered at the basic level with an increase in skill level offered as the demand increases.

Mandalas began as a form of meditation in ancient Tibet. The lines, symbols and patterns not only put the artist into a state of meditation during their creation, but also for the observer of the artwork after the piece is completed. ReBoot 10 Miler

Join the ReBoot Fitness group for a 10 Mile run/walk. Meet at Kitty Hawk Pier and run to Avalon Pier and back. There will be a 7.5 mile and 5 mile option also.
 
ReBoot is just over 1 year old now and going strong. They have a 5 day per week training schedule as well as the 3 day M/W/F with an optional workout on the weekend.

The Frank Stick Memorial Art Show is the longest running visual arts exhibit in Dare County, and is known as the winter art event on the Outer Banks that brings out the most original work by local and regional artists.

RICHARD BRUCE, co-owner of Pigman's Bar-B-Que, has wonderful
memories growing up in an Italian household around the dinner table,
especially of his great aunt Jean’s macaroni pie.  Aunt Jean, the true Italian
cook in the family, was tasked with cooking for the whole family during the
depression era while her parents and siblings would work to support the
family. During their large family meals, Aunt Jean would help prepare the
meal and provide a macaroni pie for the kitchen counter, which was eaten
on by all throughout the day. Richard will share his Aunt Jean’s counter
staple with the class and the lesson will be followed by an Italian feast.
